Part 1 : The Magic of Thought
Can truth kill magic ? Can analysis kill beauty ? Thinking about what connects the pages listed here, it are these questions. Maybe it's another way to search for the connection between heart and mind, between nature and technology (etc etc...).
If that is so, humor seems a good way to connect them. The effort to know it all gives such crazy effects. And of course it is never really complete. But the search goes on, and brings up thoughts, thousands of thoughts. I have been looking for a place to put them. I think I like them being here.
And sometimes the search brings up a beautiful dream, with a glimpse of magic.
The Book of Clichés, phrases to say in times of trouble
Can a thought kill a feeling ? Can a word kill a conversation ? Actually it happens very often. The Book of Clichés lists the phrases to do so. We're just being funny all the time. One of the Dutch words for cliché is dooddoener, which means something like killer-phrase. I love that.
Bad Poetry, bringing no enlightment
When there are no feelings left to be killed it's time for bad poetry. Singing about nothing, and even the singing sounds false.
The Book of Reasons, anything will do
And after the last singing has silenced, rationalism is there to list the unrationalities of life, and call it "reasons". There might be more, but that is still secret.
Part 2 : The Magic of Dreams
Dreams of an imaginative world come to life. A prayer, a fantasy, a nightmare of loniless. Who can tell. The only thing that seems certain is that it is virtual. Maybe because every dream is virtual. Can we really tell the real from the virtual. "Reality fills fantasy" is the title of an album I have always remembered. So close to "Reality kills fantasy".
Growing Plants
This page can be seen as a silly effort to connect nature and technology. If you think you see a deeper meaning behind it, you are right.
The Resplendent Quetzal, the legendary bird
This is just a dream. One day I will go somewhere to Guatemala and see this bird.
The Pacifists? Guild, for another internet game
Once, I started playing some internet game, called archmage. Later I joined a group of people playing the same game, to fight our common enemies. Such a group is called a "guild". And some time later I even became webmaster of this guild: The Pacifists? Guild.
Currently the homepage of the guild is maintained by someone else. If you want to play the game, you should beware that it is highly addictive (at least for some people).
