The line between genious and insanity is appaent in all of the work they have offered. I am convinced that the accepted interpretations of "The Wall" are well off-base. I have read them all and they do not touch on what I believe to be the obvious message(s) that are contained within. Granted, The Wall speaks to us on many levels. Yet, I AM mystified why it is not seen as the apex of thought on the issue of child abuse. For me, it is obvious. I have been abused as a child beyond imagination...and I strongly believe that almost every song on the album deals with the existential struggles set forth as a result of severe child abuse. This explains a great deal about Mr. Waters and identifies the deep emotional longing he feels. The pain is "in your face" and the tension of the album allows for no release. I only wish that I was alive when they were touring. A chance to see them live would have been incredible. I am on of the young pink fans, but, nonetheless, I belive them to have great insight, not to mention great talent. They will continue affecting generation after generatin. This story is true as I lived only 2 miles away from where they filmed the war squences in the making of "The Wall" movie back in the 80's. The maker's still have one of the model Stukas in the bay thanks to them sending one of the models (the one without a bomb) up with drained batteries in the transmitter. Somebody used a CB radio nearby and everybody watched in horror as the model crashed into Saunton Bay and was never recovered.
