The members of Pink Floyd are currently in the recording studio, readying a millennium album project slated for release at the end of the year, their label has confirmed.
Details are still sketchy, but EMI Music Canada announced in a press release this week that the group is "in the studio finalizing work on an anniversary album project."
No other details were available, including whether wayward member Roger Waters had rejoined the group to help celebrate the end of the millennium.
EMI also announced they have secured the rights to five more Floyd albums, including "The Wall", "Wish You Were Here", and "Animals". Previously, EMI owned only the European rights to the albums, while Sony controlled rights for the rest of the world. The move now means EMI owns worldwide rights to 14 Floyd releases.
The Pink Floyd catalogue has sold in excess of 175 million albums, making it one of the most popular catalogues in music history. |
