WATERS SHOWS SELL OUT
As demand for tickets to Roger Waters shows skyrockets, the small venues
will be playing are turning out to be a challenge for fans. The small
venues mean there are fewer seats and tickets. The combination of very
limited seating with booming public interest means shows are selling out
hours--or even minutes--after the tickets go on sale.
The first show to sell out was the 23 July show at the Mecca Auditorium in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tickets for the show went on sale through
TicketMaster (http://www.ticketmaster.com) at on Monday, 26 April. Cellar
Door, who operate the auditorium, said that tickets were sold out by 1:30
p.m. the same day. According to Cellar Door, they are hoping to establish a
second concert with Waters, but his rehearsal schedule may prevent a second
date.
The Nautica Stage, Cleveland, Ohio show for 27 July went on sale on 1 May.
The concert was sold out in only ten minutes.
Tickets for the Pier Six, Baltimore, Maryland show for 20 August went on
sale 1 May. The show was sold out in a matter of hours, according to 97.9
FM in Baltimore.
Tickets for the Chastain Park, Atlanta, Georgia show of 21 August ahve been
available to concert series subscribers since 11 April. Tickets went on
sale to the general public on 24 April. Some tickets are still remaining at
this time. Tickets for the lawn may be purchased by anybody, but the
roughly 200 reserved seats remaining may only be purchased by fans using an
American Express Gold Card for their ticket purchase.
Tickets have also already gone on sale for shows in Syracuse, New York;
Holmdel, New Jersey and Darien Lake, New York.
Tickets for the 4 August show in Mansfield, Massachusetts show go on sale
today, 2 May. Tickets for seven more shows, including three Canadian dates,
will go on sale this Friday and Saturday.
