LIVE WALL PRESS RELEASE FROM EMI RECORDS

The following official press release was issued on Wednesday, 13 October by EMI Records in the United States.

Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live Pink Floyd 1980-1981

December 1999 marks the twentieth anniversary of Pink Floyd's epic concept album, The Wall. To commemorate the event, EMI Records are releasing Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live on Wednesday, December 1. Presented in a unique 2 CD, limited edition casebound book, with new artwork by Storm Thorgerson, it will include extra tracks not previously available on CD.

The Wall is one of rock music's seminal albums. Conceived and written by Roger Waters, produced by David Gilmour, Bob Ezrin and Roger Waters, it confounded conventional wisdom to reach number one around the world, spawned the multi-platinum single 'Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)' and introduced Pink Floyd to another generation of fans. Over the next two years The Wall Live was performed in Los Angeles, New York, Dortmund and London. Room sets appeared within the wall, which was built live on stage. Giant puppets dangled from it and Gerald Scarfe's crazed animations were projected on to it. The wall crashed down in an incredible finale to reveal the band still playing in the ruins.

The London concerts were recorded on a 48-track mobile studio so choosing the best from the shows was a massive task for Pink Floyd's producer James Guthrie. The final touches are now being made, and the tracklisting finalised.

Is Anybody Out There? The Wall Live is released on EMI Records on December 1, 1999.
