New Floyd album for 1998 doubtful, Gilmour says
David Gilmour himself says that it's unlikely that there will be a
new Pink Floyd album in 1998.
Gilmour appeared on the Jools Holland Hootenanny around 1:00 am on 1
January 1998 on British television BBC2 to perform with B.B. King.
Holland asked Gilmour, "Could we predict another Pink Floyd record
this year?"
"I doubt this year," Gilmour replied. Holland asked whether there
might be an album by the year 2000.
"Dunno," responded the Floyd's guitarist. "Sorry, it's a rash
prediction."
Gilmour joined B.B. King and the Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues
Orchestra to perform two numbers. The first was 'Eyesight to the
Blind'. The perormers were joined by backing vocallists Sam Brown,
Gabrielle and Jewel for a second number. Gilmour performed the lead
solo for both songs.
Holland also asked Gilmour his New Year's resolution. Gilmour said,
"Give up food, and keep practising until I get as good as B.B.
[King]."
