MASON PERFORMS AT BENEFIT
On Friday, 12 March Nick Mason made an appearance on BBC 1 television's
"TGI Friday" as part of the latest Comic Relief charity fund raiser.
Mason performed on drums, supporting a lineup headed buy Elvis Costello.
The band included support from the girl band All Saints, Jools Holland and
his band, and F1 driver Damon Hill on guitar. They performed a cover of Ben
E. King's "Stand By Me." The performance was broadcast at about 1:00 a.m.
in England. The song played again at the end of the broadcast to fade out.
Host Chris Evans introduced Mason as "Pink Floyd's Nick Mason." According
to some who saw the performance, Mason looked very happy to be back in
action.
Mason has also recently been spotted at the opening of Tommy Hilfiger's new
shop in Bond Street. Hilfiger is sponsoring the Ferrari Formula 1 team this
season, both of whose drivers were also at hand.
