WATERS TO BEGIN RECORDING NEW ALBUM NEXT YEAR

Roger Waters tour has to "super size" its venues

JULY 29 Former Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters has been forced to change several venues on his current concert tour, mostly to larger facilities in order to accommodate strong ticket demand.

The first change was Wednesday's show (July 28), which was moved from the Landmark Theater in Syracuse, N.Y. to the Pepsi Arena in Albany. Other shows moved are the Aug. 18 date in Pittsburgh, from the IC Light Pavilion to the Star Lake Amphitheater; the Aug. 20 show in Baltimore, from the Pier 6 Concord Pavilion to the Baltimore Arena; and the Aug. 22 concert in Atlanta, from Chastain Park to Lakewood Amphitheater. Local promoters are handling ticket exchanges for the shows.

Roger Waters to take Floyd songs on road
Waters and his band have been playing a generous selection of Pink Floyd material during the show, including a block of songs from the group's landmark double album, The Wall. The album, considered by many fans to be Waters's masterpiece, was certified by the Recording Industry Assn. Of America (RIAA) for sales of 23 million copies, making it the third-best-selling album of all time in the U.S., topped only by Michael Jackson's Thriller and the Eagles' Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975.
