NEW ROGER WATERS SONG APPEARS IN ITALIAN FILM
Ennio Morricone and Roger Waters have collaborated on a song for a new
project by Italian film maker Giuseppe Tornatore. The song appears in
Tornatore's latest film, "La leggenda del pianista sull'oceano." The
soundtrack to the film, including the Morricone/Waters ballad "Lost
Boys Calling," was released in Italy on 30 October. The collaborative
song was produced by Patrick Leonard. "Lost Boys Calling" was the only
track for the film which Waters was involved with.
Morricone has scored soundtracks for "The Mission," "Days of Heaven,"
"Lolita," "La Cage Aux Folles," "Bulworth," "The Untouchables" and
"Bugsy" among many other films, but his breakthrough project was the
score for the 1964 film "A Fistful of Dollars." Patrick Leonard has
worked with Waters before, including Waters' last solo album, "Amused
to Death."
Waters' previous contribution to a film score was a cover of "Knockin'
on Heaven's Door" for "The Dybbuk of the Holy Apple Field," which
remains unreleased in the United States, but has had limited showings
in Europe and Israel.
