Comments:
Mastering - vinyl. Tape hiss evident. v
One of the better b**tlegs in my collection. Sound quality is fair to good;
no crowd noise or distortion, but with tape hiss throughout. The date is
given as Filmore West SF., 1970 (Can anyone confirm? - Eds). Roger and
Dave alternate vocals on Grantchester Meadows, which fades into a
kickass Astronomy Domine; much better than on Ummagumma. AHM is
okay: longer than the usual, 14-minute live version, but not as tedious as
the album cut. Embryo is good but not particularly unusual. Green Is The
Colour is the best I've heard: Dave's voice sounds full-bodied and
gorgeous, while Careful... is great but not exceptional. At 58 minutes,
this is a pretty good investment.
