Os Verdes

For the European elections of June 1989 Os Verdes had one list with the communist party. Their candidate, Maria Santos, was on place four and was elected but left the Green Group for the Socialist Group in September 1991.

For the European elections of June 12, 1994 Os Verdes had one list with the communist party. Their candidate. Isabel Castro, was on place four and since the list got three seats she wasn't elected. Os Verdes had a common list with the communist for practical reasons and had their own political programme.

At October 1, 1995 there were parliamentary elections. Os Verdes got two seats on a common list (CDU) with the communists (PCP). The election program was common, but Os Verdes presented their own platform and form now an independent parliamentary group, consisting of Isabel Castro and Heloisa Apolonia.
