In the eighties there was a split in the Green party. Therefore two Green lists (Glei and GAP) participated in the election of 1989. In 1994 the two parties merged again.

Luxembourg has proportional representation without a treshold. There are National elctions each five years together with the European elections. In the European election each voter has six votes. I have corrected for this. In the National election each voter has as many votes as are elegible in his constituency. The election results for the Greens are:

European Parliament

  1. 18-6-1989 0/6 seats
  2. 12-6-1994 18.488 votes 10,93% 1/6 seats
Jup Weber left the Green Group for the European Radical Alliance in December 1995
  3. 13-6-1999 10,7% 1/6 seats

National parliament

  1. 17-6-1984 2/64 seats
  2. 18-6-1989 2+2/60 seats (two lists)
  3. 12-6-1994 20.266 votes 10,17% 5/60 seats
  4. 13-6-1999
