Alexander Kachanov wrote me on 2 November 1997:
The name of our party is "Zeliony Mir" (that means "Green World").
The Party's HQ is located in the city of Gomel (second larges town of Belarus). The Party was created on 17th of April 1994. Still, it's a young Party which unites aprox. 2000 members.
All of them live in different towns of Belarus. The Chairman of the Party is Oleg Gromyko who lives in Gomel. The Party has its banner, hymn, symbol, statute and program. The Party has a representative in the Municipal Council of Gomel. However it takes an active part in every election company.
As for tasks of the Party and its activities, most of them relate to eliminating the aftereffects of the accident at Cernobyl nuclear power station. As soon as Belarus suffered most from the radiation pollution, we use all our efforts to provide a clean air, meal, water etc. to our people and to our children... You'll find more information in our program and statute.
