May 3 parliamentary elections in the Netherlands. GroenLinks 3,5% and 5 seats (1989 4% and 6 seats); De Groenen 0,2% (1989 0,4%).
June 9 and 12 elections for the European Parliament took place. The German greens performed well and received 12 seats. The French took part with two list and didn't reach the 5% threshold. The Italian greens lost some seats and held three. New in the Green Group are the Green parties of Ireland and Luxembourg.
September 17 there were parliamentary elections in Sweden. Miljöpartiet de Gröna re-entered the Riksdag with 5.0% of the votes and 18 seats.
October 9 parliamentary elections in Austria. Die Grünen received 7,0% with 13 seats (1990 10 seats).
October 16 there were federal elections in Germany. The Greens came back in the Bundestag with a share of 7,3% of the votes and 49 seats.
