Dear Green Friends: Greetings from the Green Ecological Party of Mexico. We just had an electoral process and the greens in Mexico did well. Despite of all the electoral frauds and inequity in the electoral system the Mexican Greens achieved a great progress: Senators. 4.25% 1 seat 1,100,000 votes. National Deputies 4.00% 10 seats 1,000,276. Mexico City (Governor) 6.95% 225,425. Deputies in Mexico City 8.95% 5 seats 280,877 votes. (Preliminary results with 85% of the votes counted IFE) More than a million people voted green in Mexico, so we consider this a great achievement for the greens in Mexico and the Green Movement world-wide. The Partido Verde ratifies its compromise with the Federation of Green Parties in the Americas and the rest of the Green Parties in the globe to build a harmonious and co-operative world.
