The Tokke is a reptile, that lives in Indonesia. He is very shy and is able to hide himself very well. Most of the time stays between rooftiles or in chinks and cracks. At night you could hear his call. It sounds just: Tokke... tokke.. tokke... Than he calls for his love. Tokke sees a lot and Tokeh hears a lot, He knows lots of stories... Stories about sultans, ghosts, ordinary people, love, greed and deception.

1 The fisherman The poor fisherman get as rich as his neighbour, which don't agree with the situation.

2 Monkey's daughter The orang utang is searching a good husband for her daughter.

3 The angry mother If you rail at the sun, he will punish you. But sometimes he makes a mistake.

4 fried smell to buy Nola's uncle is very miserly, even when her mother almost dies.

5 Two husbands If there are two husbands, the young wife get panic.

6 The tiger and the timber The tiger is much stronger than the timber. But is he smarter too?

7 The silly prince Th e old sultan wonders if his son is smart enough. A big problem.

8 Tigers bride If a tiger wants to marry, he beter look for his own kind. Otherwise he loose his tail.

9 Sultan Parik The frogs kidnaped the sultans wife? Anyway, that is what he thinks.

Tokke tales is a serial of 13 episodes Indonesian fairytales. About 6 minutes each, produced for the Dutch broadcast-company VPRO. The films are made in tabletopanimatie and the puppets are inspired by Indonesian Wayang Kolec. The soundtrack is performed by I Wayan Marca in Bali. The voice of Tokke is Coen Pronk.
