History: Mrs. Mulder is the mother of Agt. Mulder. She was a homemaker during her married life. The apparent abduction of her daughter Samantha, under circumstances unknown but thought to be related to the involvement in covert operations of her ex-husband, William Mulder, led to the break-up of their marriage. What knowledge she may have of her husband's work, or whether she herself was ever active in this area, was and remains unknown. Mrs. Mulder remains a solitary and weary person who still laments the loss of her daughter Samantha some thirty years ago. More recently, Mrs. Mulder suffered a stroke soon after a rancorous meeting with the Cigarette-Smoking Man, with whom she is known to have been acquainted, to an unknown degree, even before her marriage to William Mulder. Though her prognosis was poor, she managed a recovery that was considered by her doctor to be miraculous.
