When Agt. Scully’s vital signs fell below the levels stipulated in her living will for the termination of life support, Melissa Scully advocated that her sister die naturally. Melissa Scully died from a gunshot wound to the head when she was mistaken for her sister, Agt. Scully, by assassins working for an unknown government agency. It is believed, based on evidence found at the scene, that Melissa Scully's killer was Luis Cardinal.
