Genus description:
Herbs or small shrub. Leaves entire to pinnatipartite. Sepals erect or patent, the inner larger than the outer. Petals yellow or white, clawed. Lateral nectaries prismatic, intense green. Ovary sometimes with a short gynophore. Fruit a siliqua with a long or short beak; valves convex, with a prominent median vein. Seeds in 1-2 rows in each loculus, globose or rarely ovoid.
